Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by EMSC:

In the event of EMSC cancelling or postponing a course, as much notice as possible will be given. Under these circumstances, one of the following options will be offered:

  • a place on the next available course
  • a credit towards another course
  • a refund in full

EMSC shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss (e.g. pre booked travel, accommodation, loss of earnings) incurred as a result of course cancellation, other than the course fees already paid directly to EMSC.

Cancellation by the customer:

Payment for any training must be received at least 28 days before the start of a course, wherever possible. If payment has not been received before this time and written confirmation has been received by EMSC to reserve a place on the course, then cancellation fees as described below will apply. Cancellation of a place on a course must be made in writing.

The following will apply if a cancellation is made:

  • more than 28 days before the start date of the course, the fees paid will be refunded in full minus a £20 admin fee. (Please note no admin fee will be charged for amateur gardening courses.)
  • less than 28 days but more than 14 days in advance of the start date of the course 50% of the fees paid will be refunded.
  • less than 14 days but more than 7 days in advance of the start date of the course 25% of the fees paid will be refunded.
  • less than 7 days before the start date of the course or if the trainee fails to turn up, no refund will be made unless there are extenuating circumstances, at the sole discretion of EMSC

Substitutions may be made where appropriate if EMSC is notified at least 3 working days beforehand.

A charge of £53 person may be made for this if a City & Guilds Land Based Services (NPTC) or a LANTRA registration needs to be changed.
