Operating Mounted, Trailed and Self Propelled Hydraulic Nozzle or Rotary Atomiser Horizontal Boom Sprayers

This practical course will cover:

  • Basics of spray application
  • Preparation of machine
  • How sprayers work
  • Nozzles
  • Calibration
  • Spray quality
  • Mixing & Filling
  • Field work including Environmental Risk Assessment
  • Decontamination & tank washing
  • Fault finding
  • Storage

You will need to hold the PA1 (or equivalent ) qualification and be 18 years of age or more in order to attend this course.
You also need to be proficient in driving the tractor or quad bike which trails the sprayer.

Please wear/bring with you:

  • Protective rubber boots (with reinforced toes), suitable spray suit, visor and gloves.
  • Steel Tape measure (2m)
  • Notebook, pen and calculator
  • Outdoor clothing and overalls
  • Your own lunch and refreshments.
